Forgot Paris
When we arrived in Paris airport our bags were sadly nowhere to be found. British Airways kindly gave us 100 euros to buy necessities, and two toilietry bags. Of course we thought necessities included a nice Fench dinner with Nice French wine. The problem was that we were now to face the freezing weather hitting Paris with the clothes we wore on the plane (pants and shirts) and since we only had two days in Paris we had to get out there in the wind and rain and see things. So if we look cold in some of these photos, we were! Speaking of what we were wearing we were expceptionally daggy, this was because we only bought gear for walking the Camino in, i.e. two changes of walking clothes.
The sites themselves were fantastic, managed in eight hours to see the Arc de Triumph, the Louvre, the Pompideau, Notre Dam (and were exceptionally lucky to catch the full rehearsal of an orchestra and opera going on inside the cathedral) and the Eiffel Tower (in the late afternoon to see Paris during the day and night). Of course we managed to see a fare few french crepes, french pastries, french wine and frenchies.
As an aside we are now in the Spanish city of Burgos, and are 11 walking days into the Camino de Santiago enjoying a well earned rest day. We have 19 walking days (and over 500km) to go until we reach Santiago, and all and all have been farily lucky with the weather, (our emotions are consistent with the changes in the weather, if the weather is good the walking is very good, if the weather turns bad the walking is horrid).
